Find the Right Denture for Your Needs!
Dr. Joseph J. Massad, DDS is a leading expert in removable prosthodontics and his use of modern technology includes dental implants to restore his patients’ smiles and oral health. Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. They provide those who have lost teeth with the ability to eat virtually anything. Our team creates dental implants to look natural and restore a confident smile while preserving facial structure.
Why Choose Dental Implants?
Dental implants are replacement tooth roots. They are used to provide a strong foundation for fixed or removable replacement individual teeth or dentures. The implants themselves are tiny titanium posts that are surgically screwed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. The bone fuses with the titanium during the healing process. Implants can help prevent the bone deterioration that occurs when teeth are missing. Small posts are attached to the implant, which protrudes through the gums. These posts provide stable anchors for artificial replacement teeth. The entire procedure of getting dental implants usually takes six to eight months. Most patients do not experience any disruption in their daily life.

Dental Implant Procedure
If we think that implant dentistry is the choice for you, our team asks that you undergo a dental and radiographic examination. We will also go over your health history to ensure we provide you with the appropriate treatment. During these consultation visits, our team, including Dr. Massad and/or an oral and maxillofacial surgeon suggested by our practice, will address your specific needs. Your questions and concerns are important to us, and we will work with you very closely during the whole process.
For most patients, the placement of dental implants requires two surgical procedures. During the first one, implants are screwed into your jawbone. For the following three to six months, the implants are beneath the surface of the gums and are gradually integrating with the jawbone. You should be able to wear temporary teeth and eat a soft diet. During this first healing phase, your dentist designs the final crown, bridgework, or denture, which may require an impression or digital scan. In some cases, the artificial tooth or teeth can be placed immediately after the first surgery.
After the implant has fused with the jawbone, the second phase begins. Your surgeon will uncover the top of the implants and attach a small healing collar. Then, your dentist can connect the implants with the posts or attachments, before placing the teeth replacement on top of them.Get Started
